Position Summary

As a Warehouse Worker, you will play a vital role in our warehouse operations by leveraging your physical skills and computer proficiency. Your primary responsibilities will include managing the flow of materials, maintaining accurate inventory, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment. This position is essential to the efficient functioning of our warehouse, and you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to our daily operations.

Essential Job Functions

To perform this position successfully, the following responsibilities must be performed satisfactorily. These functions are representative, but not all-inclusive, of what is necessary to succeed in this position.   • Load and unload shipments, utilizing mechanical lifts when necessary.
  • Inspect, organize, and properly route incoming shipments of fabricated pipes.
  • Label and arrange pipes by type and size to optimize inventory management.
  • Utilize a numbering system to accurately track and manage inventory.
  • Safely stack pallets and pipes using a forklift.
  • Assist in packing and preparing deliveries while adhering to ergonomic best practices.
  • Safely operate and maneuver company trucks and trailers on local roads, including driving and backing up trailers, while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Work safely at heights, including on ladders and mechanical lifts.
  • Operate computer systems, including Microsoft Office and in-house software, to manage workflow and inventory.
  • Strictly follow all safety regulations and protocols at all times.
  • Lift and carry items weighing between 15-50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Collaborate closely with a small, dedicated team to achieve daily operational goals.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization, which includes sweeping floors, cleaning trucks, and managing waste.
  • Transport paperwork and materials between different buildings as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license.

  • A clean driving record and eligibility for insurance coverage on company vehicles.

  • Proficiency in using computers, including Microsoft Word and Outlook.

  • Ability to read and write in English, follow verbal instructions, and perform basic math.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to stay organized.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, adapt to changing priorities, and manage frequent interruptions.

  • Previous experience in shipping and/or receiving is a plus but not required.

  • Prior forklift experience is preferred, with certification provided.

  • Strong attendance and punctuality history.

  • Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted.

  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position as outlined.

Must be able to: Stand and walk for long periods of time during a regular work day; use arms and hands to reach for, handle and manipulate objects; lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds unassisted; climb up and down ladders; carry tools and equipment; work while in stooped, kneeling, crouched, and crawling positions; be able to see naturally or with correction, to safely perform designated tasks.

Environmental conditions may include areas where toxic or caustics chemicals or fumes are in use or being stored; HMI provides safety and respiratory gear for these circumstances. Noise intensity level can be high, where HMI provides hearing protection; Close proximity to moving mechanical parts when in or near shops; May be required to operate or work around powder-actuated hand tools. Employee will need to exhibit quick visual and physical responses as necessary. Vision abilities required by this job include close, far, and field of vision and will involve visual scanning between computer screen and data/documentation.
