Position Summary

As an MEP drafter, you will be responsible for assisting in the production of accurate 2D and 3D drawings for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in compliance with industry standards, project specifications, and client requirements.

Essential Job Functions

To perform this position successfully, the following responsibilities must be performed satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential job functions. The following responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and revise Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings.
  • Work closely with engineers, designers, and project managers to ensure accurate integration of all systems.
  • Interpret architectural and structural drawings to create coordinated MEP layouts.
  • Utilize software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and other relevant drafting tools.
  • Maintain drawing files and document revisions per company standards.
  • Assist in clash detection and coordination between trades using BIM tools when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Diploma, Associate’s degree, or higher in Drafting, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP; Navisworks experience is a plus.
  • Interest in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
