Position Summary
The Training Coordinator plays a key role in supporting Hurckman Mechanical’s commitment to employee development and operational excellence. Operating under the Human Resources department, this individual is responsible for organizing and coordinating training programs across the company for both field and office personnel. This includes evaluating training needs, maintaining accessible training materials, and continuously improving our training initiatives. Once acclimated with the materials, this role will also lead the majority of training sessions, helping ensure consistency and relevance in delivery. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to ensure training is relevant, consistent, and effective.

- Coordinate and schedule training sessions for field and office employees across all departments (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and administrative staff)
- Work closely with department heads, foremen, and HR to identify training needs and prioritize offerings
- Develop and maintain a centralized training calendar and track employee participation and certifications
- Conduct and facilitate both classroom and hands-on training sessions for a variety of topics, including safety protocols, equipment operation, and trade-specific skills.
- Research, gather, and organize training materials—ensuring they are accurate, relevant, and aligned with company standards
- Maintain a digital library of training content that is accessible and easy to navigate for all employees
- Evaluate the effectiveness of existing training programs and make recommendations for improvement
- Assist with onboarding training coordination for new hires, including safety training and company procedures
- Partner with internal subject matter experts and external vendors to deliver specialized training as needed
- Track and manage required continuing education hours, licenses, or certifications for applicable roles
- Manage allocated training budget, including ordering and maintaining in-house equipment and supplies
- Ensure documentation of all training activities is complete and compliant with internal requirements
- Support company-wide learning initiatives and promote a culture of continuous improvement
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Prior experience in a training coordinator, HR, or administrative support role preferred
- Previous experience in a technical training role is highly desirable. Experience in the mechanical trades (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, pipefitting) or a related field is often required.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable working with a range of employees, from field technicians to executives
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with training or LMS platforms is a plus
- Ability to work independently while staying aligned with HR and company goals
- Professional, approachable, and committed to delivering a positive employee experience
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in documentation and tracking
- Eagerness to learn the MEP industry and build relationships across departments
