Position Summary

The MEP Designer plays a key role in the development of integrated building system designs. You will prepare accurate and coordinated mechanical, electrical, and plumbing system drawings and models, ensuring compliance with project requirements, codes, and industry standards. This role requires a strong technical knowledge in mechanical systems.

Essential Job Functions

To perform this position successfully, the following responsibilities must be performed satisfactorily.   • Assist in design of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Prepare detailed design drawings and layouts using AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and other BIM tools.
  • Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and system layouts for HVAC, electrical distribution, and plumbing systems.
  • Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of all systems.
  • Review and revise designs based on client feedback, engineering input, and site conditions.
  • Participate in design review meetings and provide technical input throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain organized project documentation and revision histories.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP; knowledge of Navisworks is an advantage.
  • Solid understanding of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Experience with sustainable design practices and energy modeling.
    • BIM coordination and clash detection experience.
