Position Summary

Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and install commercial and industrial refrigeration systems and related equipment in a timely manner, ensuring high-quality service to meet customer and company standards.

Essential Job Functions

To perform this position successfully, the following responsibilities must be performed satisfactorily. These functions are representative, but not all-inclusive, of what is necessary to succeed in this position.   • Work confidently and skillfully on industrial and commercial refrigeration equipment.
  • Responsively take direction from dispatchers, addressing work assignments and customer requests positively.
  • Travel to job sites within the service area, transporting necessary tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks on refrigeration systems.
  • Be available for night or weekend work on a rotating basis to handle emergency service needs.
  • Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in good working order.
  • Inspect, install, diagnose, and repair refrigeration systems and components.
  • Complete required paperwork accurately and promptly, including timecards and work reports.
  • Collaborate with the team on work procedures and status updates.
  • Interpret technical information and write technical reports as needed.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance job performance.
  • Maintain proper stock of parts, tools, and safety equipment in the company vehicle.
  • Fabricate equipment parts to meet specialty needs or replace unavailable parts.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and approval from the insurance company to operate company vehicles.
  • Journeyman-level skills or equivalent experience (at least 5 years) in working with large industrial and commercial refrigeration systems.
  • Proficient in motor controls and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Comfortable using technology such as iPads and smartphones.
  • Positive attitude, open to new ideas, and a progressive thinker.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Physical capability to climb ladders, scaffolds, access rooftops, and enter restricted areas for inspection.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, overtime, and participate in an on-call rotation schedule.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work priorities and handle interruptions effectively.
  • Physically fit to climb, crawl, lift heavy objects, and work in various environments, including indoor/outdoor, hot/cold weather, and confined spaces.
