As of June 1, 2024, Hurckman Mechanical Industries (HMI) proudly announces Jake Warden as the new president. This leadership transition marks a significant milestone in the company’s rich history, highlighting a commitment to growth, innovation, and excellence.

A Legacy of Leadership

Hurckman Mechanical Industries has always been a family-led business, with a legacy that began in 1953 when Frank Hurckman founded the company. Frank’s dedication to honesty and craftsmanship laid a solid foundation. Over the decades, leadership transitioned smoothly from Frank to his son John Hurckman, and then to John’s son, Brad Hurckman. Brad Hurckman, who took over in 2003, led the company with the same passion and vision that characterized his predecessors. Under his guidance, HMI celebrated numerous achievements, including the expansion to new locations in Wausauand Marinette and the commemoration of its 70th anniversary in 2023.

Welcoming Jake Warden

For the first time in its history, Hurckman Mechanical has appointed a president from outside the Hurckman family. Jake Warden, who joined HMI in 2015, has demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication, moving up the corporate ladder through various pivotal roles. Starting as a project manager, Jake quickly established himself as a key player within the company. His analytical mindset and commitment to efficiency led him to positions such as Project Management Team Lead and Chief Operations Coordinator, culminating in his new role as president.

Brad Hurckman, reflecting on this transition, emphasized the importance of succession and the need for capable leaders to drive the company forward. “When my father had the vision to relinquish the company, he gave me the road map to succeed. Jake has followed a similar path, moving up through the ranks with dedication and skill.”

Jake Warden’s Vision for HMI

Jake Warden, a Michigan Technological University graduate, brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to HMI. His background in operations and project management, combined with his innovative approach, positions him perfectly to lead the company into its next chapter of growth.

Reflecting on his journey, Jake said, “Coming from the operations and project manager side of things, I was given a project and then ran with it – beat the timeline, beat the budget, and beat the hours. I’m excited – there are plenty of opportunities to dive into. I come from an analytical mindset where I’m always trying to find ways to make things more efficient.”

A Bright Future

Brad Hurckman will continue to play a crucial role as CEO and owner, ensuring a smooth transition and offering his invaluable experience and guidance. Brad expressed his confidence in Jake’s ability to uphold the company’s legacy and drive it forward. “It would be nice to have Hurckman Mechanical continue as a generational company – there is a lot of heart and soul involved with that. I know Jake would do that job whether there is a Hurckman here or not.”
